Sun Valley Station
Lucas Copeland and Jeff Hobbs of Austin’s music group “Sun Valley Station” are long time friends who share an appreciation for soulful roots music, Authentic artists and the pursuit of embarking on a new project which just recently came to fruition. The two fellow musicians met in Fort Worth, Texas in the early 2000’s and have since traveled many roads together as a band and apart while still remaining friends.
Hobbs, a songwriter from southern Oklahoma and Copeland, a boisterous and dynamic Bass player nicknamed “Honky Tonk Red” have been on different paths for the better part of a decade. While Copeland traveled the country performing in various groups Hobbs took a hiatus from music completely. Uncertain of his place on ever returning as a performing songwriter Hobbs settled back home where he made a living building fences. In the summer of 2018 Copeland set out on a mission to do something new and revisit a name from the past. He knew there was unfinished business and more to be done with his once band mate Jeff Hobbs and made a phone call that has sparked a new endeavor known as “Sun Valley Station.”
It is a partnership that has proved effective in only a year with two opposite personalities providing what the other is missing. With Copeland’s unmatched energy and passion for music he has been able to excite crowds and ignite a fire behind the writing and mindset of Hobbs who admits that without the influence of his musical brother, would not be doing this.
Both Hobbs and Copeland have suffered trials of loss, addiction and other self destructive habits but have used this as fuel to start a new chapter in their lives; one with a collective goal to share music with the masses and enjoy the ride. Sun Valley Station has music now available for the fans online and is set to release a full length album to start the new year. Fans can go to sunvalleystation.com for music, merch and event news!
