I-35 Food Coma

If you’re road-tripping this summer and hitting the ol’ immaculate I-35, make it worthwhile and slide it to one of these tasty joints that won’t steer you too far from your trail. Up in Dallas you’ll find some of the tastiest cheese fries to come out of the LoneStar state piled high with cheese, bacon and jalapeños. Making your way south, grab a pit-stop in West and snag ya a dozen fresh Kolaches to snack on along the route. By the time you get to Austin you’ll want to stretch those legs so why not saddle up to a tiki table on Lake Austin. You can sip frozen concoctions of your choosing while eating sizzling Hawaiian fajitas (the Tai are my favorite) with the sun setting over the water. Before you wrap up your tour of I-35 cruise over to the Canyon Cafe in The Quarry in SA and grab you a few baskets of the best damn chips and salsa you’ll find south of the Oklahoma border.

Seriously, I’ve eaten at all these joints and a few others I’ve shared below.
